The report offers a comprehensive analysis of China’s fintech industry between 2024 and 2025, highlighting market trends, emerging technologies, corporate competitiveness, and key case studies. Notable insights include:
- Regional Leadership: Beijing leads with 41 companies, accounting for over 40% of the Top 100 fintech firms. Along with Guangdong, Zhejiang, Shanghai, and Jiangsu, these top five regions collectively represent more than 80% of the leading enterprises.
- Global Expansion: In 2025, 45 fintech companies established overseas branches, an 11% increase year-on-year. Main expansion destinations include Hong Kong, Macao, Taiwan, Southeast Asia, and Africa. Overseas revenue for these companies reached RMB 15.345 billion in 2024, a 20% growth compared to the previous year.
Aligned with China’s latest Government Work Report, which for the first time includes “continuously advancing the ‘AI+’ initiative” as a national development goal, the fintech sector is embracing AI at scale. Key focuses include accelerating the adoption of large-scale AI models, empowering industry leaders, boosting R&D with domestic computing power, and cultivating an open, collaborative AI ecosystem.
